Just popping in to say a quick hello on this lovely Friday.  I have so many projects swimming around in my head lately and not much extra time to do them in.

I've been trying to use a planning calendar for such things, but man...sometimes it just doesn't get done.

These are so bright and beautiful.  I think I need some cloth napkins in my life.  Or they would be a great housewarming gift!

Goat Cheese Guacamole?  Yes, please!

 

This guac has been on my mind for a couple days.  I love avocado and goat cheese together on sandwiches, so I don't see how you can go wrong with this appetizer!

A vertical flower garden!

I have a black (ish) thumb, but have a desire to get outside and make my yard beautiful.  I think this is just adorable.  Plus, it would make a cool gift for Mothers' Day, which will be here soon!

DIY Patterned Leggings!

This geometric pattern rocks my socks.  I was at Burlington the other day and they have whole racks of just leggings.  Methinks I need to buy a couple cheap pairs and make some running capris!  Oh, yeah...and start running again.  Yes.  That is on the list!

DIY Wall Art Using Instagram Prints!

I've been jonesing to make this little picture collage of sorts, so I just ordered some Instagram prints from Foxgram....only 25 cents a print.  Can't beat that!

Enchilada Pizza!

This can actually be on my "To DONE" list, because I made this pizza 2 or 3 weeks ago and it was even more delicious than the picture looks...and we all know that picture looks delicious.  Do it!

Cocktails!

Gin and tonics have been my favorite cocktail lately.  With lime...so much lime.  But, this spring-y twist on things must happen.  Soon!

You like how I overused my yearly quota of exclamation points?!  I'm just excited it's Friday!

I've been staring at this on and off for about a week.  It's so pretty!  I really love mosaic looking stuff, but this takes it to a new, colorful level.  I heart re-doing old furniture, too!

For some reason, it took me 30 years of life to become interested in eye makeup.  Totally about to try this little wing tip/cat eye look.

Fall Crafts!!

I'm officially excited for Fall!  I can't wait to try some pretty leaf prints.  This person hammered the leaf onto paper to get this effect.  Cool, huh?

Treadmill Workout

The Fitnessista is so awesomely creative with her workouts.  Who knew you could use the treadmill for more than just walking and running?  Definitely going to incorporate this into my workout on rainy days when I can't workout outside.

Chili Bar

I have had chili on my brain lately.  And, yes, today it is going to be 99 degrees with a heat advisory.  But as soon as that temp dips down to below 80, it is on.  This chili bar would be perfect for a football watching party, too.

Ombre Hair

I dig the ombre, dip dyed look here.  So much so, that my sweet little cousin (who is an amazing beautification expert-ad on the sidebar) did it on my hair!

Yeah, I love me some Pinterest.  For those of you who aren't familiar with the site, here's a little description of Pinterest I got from Wikipedia:

"Pinterest is a pinboard-style social photo sharing website that allows users to create and manage theme-based image collections such as events, interests, hobbies and more. Users can browse other pinboards for inspiration, 're-pin' images to their own collections and or 'like' photos."

I have been known to pin daily, but I try to only pin stuff I think is awesome.

This treadmill workout looks like it would be intense, but doable.  Definitely a great workout to have in your back pocket when you can't walk or jog outside.

New Obsession & DIY Ombre Nails

Ok, I have heard other bloggers talk about Pinterest & wondered what the big deal was. Um, it’s awesome. That’s the big deal. It has eye candy of all sorts. Such pretty things to look at. I like to look at the home décor, the DIY projects and especially the prints. I love quotes and sayings and found such great things there.

Well, the topic of this post is related to the endless amount of time I just spent on this site. I was looking for nail inspiration. As in, finger nails (or toenails).

I am currently packing up our stuff for our move next month (Does packing 4 boxes count as packing? Whatever) & found that I have a ton of nail polish.



Eek. Not sure how that happened. I don’t really paint my finger nails too much because they chip so quickly on me. Maybe because I wash my hands a lot and do stupid dishes every day. Well, it is nice to enjoy pretty nails on the cheap, even if just for a short amount of time.

So, here’s what I used to make my ombre nails:

*One nail color you like a lot (I used Dream On by Sinful Colors, it looks pink in the pic, but it is purple)
*White polish (I used Sally Hanson)
*Top coat
*Plastic container to mix colors (I used an old thumbtack container) & stirring stick
You can either start with dots of your color and add white, or do what I did and add white first. I started with 3 drops of white and worked my way up

Then added one drop of color

Then adjusted the drops so you could tell the difference between one shade to the next

I started with pinkie fingers and painted dark to light.
Here’s the results:

Ok, please ignore the fact that I painted more cuticle than nail. That’s just how I roll. I’m sure if you attempt this, you will do a neater job.
