Bacon Cheeseburger Calzones

My husband grew up with convenience foods like Hot Pockets and frozen pizzas. When we first got together, I made these things. Then I started to get into cooking fresh foods that taste better and are better for you. I'm not knocking Hot Pockets. Eat those if you like them. But these calzones are so very tasty that it would be a shame if you did not try them.

Here's what you need:

1. Dough (Here you can use a pizza dough in a can, make your own fresh pizza dough, use crescent rolls or do what I did and use the crazy bread recipe found here.)
2. Meat (I used 90 % lean ground sirloin)
3. Seasoning (Burger seasoning would be best. I also added a dash of soy sauce for salty deliciousness)
4. Bacon
5. Cheese
6. Add ins (Pickles or onions would be great. Unfortunately, my husband did not want either)

By the way, this burger seasoning is so good for steak, burgers or cheeseburger calzones. I found it at Kroger.

Ok, so here's how you make these.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Brown your meat, add burger seasoning and dash of soy sauce (optional).
Make your dough (or open a can of dough). Prepare the bacon.
If using the crazy bread dough recipe, you split the dough in 4 pieces and ball them up. One by one, roll them out or press them out with your hand until they are bigger than a CD (pretty much stretch them as much as you can without them tearing.
Then on one side, pile in your toppings.

Fold them over and pinch the sides, then press the edges with a fork. Add a sprinkle of cheese on top.
This recipe makes 4 assuming you are using the CB dough recipe.
Bake for 15 minutes.

Take pictures of them and put them on Facebook. Just kidding, but you can do that if it makes you happy.

Devour them.
